Southern River Hookin2 Hockey @Hawks provides fun, game-based skills development for Pre-Junior players from Kindy to Year 4 in Perth.

Our program is designed to introduce children to hockey in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment, helping them build confidence, movement skills, and a love for the game.

What is Hookin2 Hockey (Hin2H)?

Hook in2 Hockey focuses on skill development through fun, game-based activities, delivered with the support of our two top senior teams.

Our goal is to foster a lifelong love of movement through hockey, a sport that develops:

Physical literacy and fundamental movement skills
Tactical and strategic thinking
Social and emotional development

Hin2H is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the Australian Physical Literacy Framework, supporting meaningful and inclusive participation in community sport. This program reflects Hockey Australia’s Growth Strategy, promoting holistic player development at every level.

Season Details

Season Commences: Term 2, 2026
Sessions: 14 sessions across Terms 2 & 3
When: Fridays from 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Where: Grass fields, with some sessions held on turf
No sessions: Long weekends or school holidays

Session Format

10 minutes warm-up
30 minutes skills training
20 minutes small, informal games

Players are grouped into teams of 8-12, based on age and, where possible, placed with friends.

Coaches – Hook in2 Hockey

Southern River Hockey Club is proud to be a 100% volunteer-run community club, and our Hook in2 Hockey program is no exception. Coaches for the Hookin2 Hockey program will be members of our top womens and mens teams with parent volunteers.
